Team Agreement In

In serious Scrum`s Slack work area, we want to share tips and tricks with local teams so they can inspect and customize them. Your remote team agreement could help other teams: bring yours and talk! (Your invitation is below). DOCUMENT THE THINGS YOU DO AND DON`T AGREE ON. Once you`re done, you`re talking about each score as a team – which is important in all three areas. Things you can agree on pon go into your official team agreement (use what tool your team wants to document: Google documents, Word, Wikis, etc.). In every team, there will be things you won`t agree on. That’s the way it goes. You can also document these things. At least everyone knows where the team is not aligned. If you have worked on a team, chances are you have experienced some of the above situations. You may even have found some articles on how to solve these challenges. The establishment of a team agreement is an important first step in meeting these challenges. Phil Montaro, of The Anywhere Office, has introduced a policy for a team agreement called ICC Workflow.

This process divides work into three categories: information, communication and cooperation. The idea is for the team to define the information they need for the projects they are working on, the communication protocols needed for their work, and the tools they need to let each team know what the other is working on. CHECK YOUR AGREEMENT REGULARLY. Keep in mind that the way people work will naturally change over time. The team agreement is supposed to be a “living document”; adapts to the team as it evolves. Your team agreement should be reviewed and adapted regularly if your way of operating changes. This is a good time if you hire new people or if someone leaves the team. Even if things are going well, take the opportunity to review your team agreement to see if everyone is still on the same side. In this new standard, the ability for a team to discuss a team agreement remotely is a recognition of the broader context.

Once the team has voted, check all the new standards. Anything with every thumb in the air immediately becomes a new standard. Anything neutral should be discussed further. Once the team lines up (including reformulation), it becomes the norm. Any standard containing an inch down should be discussed and decide whether it should be rejected or revised to work with the team. Hang it on the wall of a prominent location (or on your team`s digital mainpiece remotely) to remind everyone what they represent. Fast forward to March 2020 and the global context has changed dramatically. I bet your team has experienced at least one incident like this in recent weeks. I would also bet that there was little or no shame. Why would there be that? Ask the team what status tags are valuable to them. It might be helpful for your teammates to know if you are only available by checking your Slack status. (Telling you that you are WFH is not really helpful right now 🙂 During this meeting, you guide the group through a series of questions that examine everyone`s preferences and expectations.
